US aid for feasibility study on power distribution in Kolkata

The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will fund a feasibility study for implementation of smartgrid technologies in electricity distribution in Kolkata. According to a press release issued by CESC Ltd, the licensee operator in the city, the company will enter into an agreement with USTDA on March 26 for the $ 6,18,860 grant. CESC caters to nearly 25 crore power consumers in the twin cities of Kolkata and Howrah.

    No state has 25 crore consumer , if fact whole of the india may not add up to 25 crores consumers
