Siemens picks up $24.5 million SCADA/DMS order from India
Siemens will install turnkey supervisory control and data acquisition technology (SCADA/DMS) for power distribution networks for the Indian state of Maharashtra’s State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. The US $24,467,000 order was awarded as part of the Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Program funded by the Indian government. In addition to improving the availability and transparency of the distribution networks, the systems also are expected to reduce related power losses by up to 15%. The order includes installation of remote terminal units in substations of various size and more than 4,000 compact remote terminal units in the 11 kilovolt distribution substations. Siemens also will provide maintenance and other services for five years after the systems are commissioned.
