Power Ministry opposes Coal India’s new pact; seeks modifications
The Power Ministry has opposed the new pact that Coal India has proposed to sign with power producers saying that they will not ink the agreement unless it is “modified”.
“It (the Fuel Supply Agreement) is not practicable. It is not pragmatic and it needs to be modified. We have already taken up with the Coal Ministry,” Power Minister M Veerappa Moily told PTI.
He declined, however, to reveal the changes Power Ministry is demanding.
“I don’t want to discuss the modification. They (Coal Ministry) need to revise it. We are asking them to revise the FSA,” he said.
