MSEDCL mulls implementing power cuts in Nagpur
Dark clouds of power cuts are once again hovering over Nagpur as MSEDCL is thinking of implementing load shedding in high loss feeders of franchisee areas. So far franchisee areas in the state – Nagpur, Aurangabad, Bhiwandi and Jalgaon – were spared from power cuts. But now some areas of the city may face prolonged power cuts this summer. The minimum duration of load shedding will be 6.15 hours.
A meeting is scheduled to be held in MSEDCL head office in Mumbai on Wednesday to discuss this issue. It is reliably learnt that two officers from Nagpur office have left for the state capital with all the required documents. Representatives of Essel Utilities, the company that owns Nagpur franchisee SNDL, will also attend the meeting along with the requisite data.
