NLC invites global consultants for Uttar Pradesh power plant
State-owned Neyveli Lignite Corp has invited global firms for providing consultancy for its 1, 980 MW thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh involving a cost of Rs 11,128 crore. “Bids are invited by Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) on behalf of Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Ltd (NUPPL)…for project consultancy services for Ghatampur Thermal Power Project at Ghatampur tehsil, Uttar Pradesh,” the state-owned firm said. The consultant will be selected on the basis of an international competitive bidding process. The total consultancy contract shall be executed in two phases, it said.
“The scope of work for Phase I briefly covers basic design & engineering, vendor selection…..The scope of work for Phase-II briefly covers…inspection services, expediting services and project management services,” the company said.
Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd and Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd entered into a joint venture for the thermal power plant. Amid apprehensions by trade unions with regard to divesting 5 per cent stake in NLC, the company has expressed hopes that proposed share sale through offer for sale route may happen in two-three months.
