Mozambique to manufacture solar panels with Indian investment

Mozambique‘s first solar panel factory is due to start operating in October thanks to a US$13 million investment from India’s Export-Import Bank (ExIm Bank).

The project, which is being carried out in Beluluane, in the Boane district of Maputo province, southern Mozambique, belongs to the National Energy Fund (FUNAE) in cooperation with the Indian government.

The factory, built on a two-hectare plot, will manufacture solar panels to provide electricity in the remotest areas of the country.
