Jakson Power launches solar-powered generators, water purifiers
Jakson Power Solutions on Wednesday launched solar-powered generators and solar-based water purifiers which are based on the plug and play concept.
These portable generators, available in the range of 0.5 kW-25 kW, can be shifted easily and started in a short span.
The battery back-up can provide power for six hours without sunlight. At the same time, the battery can be charged through conventional sources also.
The company has come out with both low-capacity and high-capacity generators. The former, suitable for low electricity demand uses such as for 1-2 kW in offices, shops or homes, are priced between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5 lakh.
The second type, in the 12-25 kW range, can be used in off-grid locations such as Defence applications, telecom, remote locations, rural electrification, disaster management and oil and gas projects. These high-range products would cost between Rs 30 lakh-Rs 50 lakh.
The company is targeting additional revenue of Rs 200 crore from the new product line by 2015-16.
Currently, the group has more than 1,800 employees and revenues exceeding Rs 1,350 crore, with a sales and service network spread across India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Singapore.
Jakson plans to set up a dealer and distributor network to market the new products in India. The company is also planning to export these products to Africa, West Asia and South-East Asia.
