HC orders resumption of power supply to AP from Jindal plant

Andhra Pradesh High Court has directed the Southern Regional Load Dispatch Centre, Bangalore, to restore the supply of 300 MW of power from Jindal Power Project inKarnataka to Andhra Pradesh. 

The court, in its ruling two days ago, stayed an earlier order of SRLDC and directed it to restore power supply under the short term open access in terms of Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) regulations notified in 2008. 

Last month, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), on the ground that Karnataka was facing an acute power deficit, withdrew the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) issued for supply of 300 MW power to Andhra.
