Aggressive bidding starts for coal blocks; bidders claim zero fuel cost for Talabira-I

Power companies have started aggressive bidding for coal block while agreeing to develop Talabira-I coal block in Odisha without charging any fuel cost.

Sources said one of the bidders has quoted zero as price bid for the coal block.

The coal ministry has set reverse bidding for coal blocks earmarked for power sector. This means when the bidding for the Talabira-I coal block, meant for power sector, starts bidders will have to quote a price higher than the Rs 100 per tonne reserve price.
