UPPCL didn’t install meter? Don’t pay bill after Oct 15

Consumers who have applied and paid for the electricity meter but haven’t got it yet from UPPCL will not be required to pay any money for power consumption after October 15.

The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) on Friday barred the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited from raising bill for urban consumers after October 15 whose meters have not been installed despite payment for the same.

In a directive issued to all distribution companies, UPERC reiterated that the revenue loss due to non-issuance of bills has to be borne by the licensees and the revenue loss would be considered as deemed revenue.
