Telangana will shine bright with solar power: Power Minister

Hyderabad: Minister for Power G Jagadish Reddy on Saturday slammed the Opposition for trying to malign the image of the government. The Opposition accused the government of not taking steps for increasing power generation.

During the question hour in the Assembly, Jagadish Reddy strongly criticised the Opposition’s remarks and said that state had set a target to generate 2,000 MW solar power by December this year. He said the Telangana state, which holds second place with 1,300 MW after Rajasthan in solar energy, would soon top the charts at national level by December.
Replying to questions by Somarapu Satyanarayana, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Janardhan Reddy and others, Jagadish Reddy said that he was ready to take suggestions from the members, who should refrain from making false allegations related to the power projects, solar energy, wind power and hydel power. “We are firm on generating adequate power”, he said. He further added that works for Bhadradri-Kothagudem power plant, Dummgudem and also wind energy are on.
