Power for 22L households in 18 mths: Goyal

Jaipur: About 22 lakh households in Rajasthan that are still out of bounds of power supply in rural areas are expected to get electricity in next 18 months under Deendayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY). Minister of state (independent charge) for power Piyush Goyal also accused the previous Congress government of “utter mismanagement” of Rajasthan Discoms.

“There are about 22 lakh households which are balance (to be electrified) as on April 30, 2017. We are drawing up a scheduled to complete in next 18 months” said Goyal. For the villages, minister mentioned that out of total (495) villages identified as un-electrified, only one is left to get electricity.
