Renewable energy sets new record for United Kingdom electricity generation
New Government figures released show that renewable energy generated more than 25% of the UK’s electricity in the first quarter of this year – with onshore wind setting a quarterly record high, providing 8.3% of our power, again demonstrating its role as a key technology in our energy mix.
“Naturally fast food chain” Leon is switching its energy from a mix of renewables to 100 percent United Kingdom solar power for the duration of the summer.
India can use its electricity grid to integrate 175 Gigawatts of renewable energy by the year 2022, union minister of state for power, coal, new and renewable energy Piyush Goyal said today. The second volume, to be released in July, takes a more in-depth look at system operations in the western and southern regions.
Emma Pinchbeck, executive director of industry body RenewableUK, said in a statement: “Renewable energy is a mainstream technology, which is cheaper and more advanced than ever”.
