Vestas to ship 40 MW of turbines for Karnataka wind farm
Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has won an order to supply 40 MW of wind turbines for part of the Basavane Bagewadi wind park in India’s Karnataka state.
The deal was awarded by Indian firm Atria Brindavan Power Pvt Ltd and calls for equipment delivery for the second phase of the project, Vestas said on Thursday. The Danish wind turbine manufacturer at the end of September received a contract for 40 MW of turbines for the first phase of the scheme in Bijapur district.
Under the latest order, the value of which was not disclosed, Vestas will supply and install 18 units of its V110-2.2 MW turbines and service them under a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM5000) agreement. It will also provide its SCADA system for data-driven monitoring and preventive maintenance.
Vestas expects to bring the machines online in the second quarter of next year.
The Danish company noted it has secured over 230 MW of wind turbine orders in India this year.
