Bihar : Draft RFP for Setting up of Grid Connected Solar PV Projects coupled with Pisci-culture

In wake of rising demand of electricity combined with State Government’s efforts to promote sustainable development through promotion of renewable sources of energy, the Government of Bihar has proposed to tie Solar power generation with pisci-culture. The State Government has decided to pioneer a movement towards adoption and promotion of establishment of Solar PV projects on the lands identified for the development of inland fresh water aquaculture including maun/ chaur/ ponds as a potential solution for the inclusive development of rural areas.

The State Government has decided to develop up to 150 MW of Solar PV based projects  to be set-up on the maun/chaur/pond where pisciculture is being undertaken. Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited (BSPHCL) has been designated by Energy Department, Govt. of Bihar for undertaking the bid process management for selection of the private developers.
